Most Frequently Asked Questions
What if we want public but we are only 4?
Answer: Book the minimum. If you offer it as a Public cruise, Other people can join and make up the minimum. In that case, you will get refunnded the extra that you paid so you could meet the minimum.
I know how to sail and I want to charter the boat without Crew.
Qualified skippers, with 3 trained crew, can also charter the boat “bareboat” for P10K for up to 4 hours or P15k for 8hrs. P20k for 24 hrs. It is unlikely that you can charter This boat unless you have already sailed this boat as Captain, with us on board, as an exam, and we know your crew is competent.
I want go bring my own food and drinks. You can, but your trip has to originate at TLYC.
Other than Saturday afternoon, what are your other “regular” or suggested times? Popular requests are the “after checkout” cruise times. This is a great trip around 2 or 3PM on Sunday,
What about Night Cruises? Not yet.
Do you accept Photoshoots? Yes. Time at the TLYC dock is 50% off. Call us.
Are there showers and toilets? On shore yes, on board, sort of.
What if it rains? You will probably get wet. The boat has 4 cabins, so if you really want, you can go below. Its not dangerous, boats like this are built to weather storms.
Should I bring extra clothes? Its a good idea, just in case.
What about shoes? Guests on yachts are normally requested to remove their shoes when on the boat, especially leather street shoes. There is a basket where you can put your shoes after boarding. You may notice some crew with shoes. These are shoes reserved for the boat only. They do not go ashore, they usually have white rubber soles.

Cruising ‘Round Taal Volcano: A Perfect Day on the Water!
Torn between the adrenaline rush of the Round the Volcano race in a Hobie Cat and a laid-back cruise shadowing the fleet, we opted for the latter—especially with the forecast calling for strong winds. And boy, did we make the right choice!
Instead of battling the gusts, we got a gloriously mild and sunny day—one of the best in months. Aboard the Taal Explorer, the newly acquired Wharram Tiki 31 of Taal Lake Yacht Club, our crew of five adults and six kids set off on a smooth and easygoing circumnavigation of Taal Volcano.
This boat? An absolute dream. Tons of space, zero extreme heeling, and the perfect ride for both seasoned sailors and first-timers. The kids had a blast—sailing around the volcano for the first time, free to move around and soak in the adventure. Meanwhile, we adults took turns at the helm, lounged in the sun, enjoyed a relaxed lunch, and even snuck in some power naps in the cozy cabins. And all the while, ‘Taal Explorer’ effortlessly carried us across the pristine waters, completing the loop in under five hours.
Back at the yacht club, we couldn’t help but appreciate how much of a game-changer this catamaran is. It’s the ultimate way to explore the beauty, serenity, and unspoiled waters of Taal Lake. One thing’s for sure—this won’t be our last trip on Taal Explorer!
